JON SPENCER INTERVIEW (2006)
I had followed The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion for many many years.
To me their music was so raw, revolutionary, atonal and guttural.
It hit all the those spots never hit before!
Jim Waters forwarded me Jon's email, so I sent him a copy of my latest demo for Engine Ears. Jon emailed me back letting me know he was impressed with the content and agreed to an interview. At the same time he offered up Matt Verta-Ray for an interview for Engine Ears as well! When they came to Canada, Jon called to let me know he was coming to Kitchener, which was a 20 minute drive from my home!
After the interviews, I stayed for their Heavy Trash show with The Sadies.
What great energy that night!
